These spindle motors are mid-to-large frame AC main spindle motors used in legacy CNC and industrial automation systems, where successful replacement depends on matching motor length, mounting style, cooling method, power connection layout, bearing type, and encoder configuration to the original installation.
Motor frame and length variants ? 2AD164 frame with multiple motor lengths that affect physical dimensions, cooling compatibility, and allowable vibration severity
Mounting configurations ? Flange-mounted (B05) and flange-with-foot (B35) designs, with B05 limited to top-mounted power connections
Cooling methods ? Shaft-mounted blower, axial blower, or radial blower configurations, with defined restrictions on connection position and allowable encoder combinations
Power connection placement ? Left, top, or right housing-mounted connections, dependent on mounting style and cooling mode
Power cable exit orientation ? Defined output direction of the power connection relative to the motor housing and blower location
Encoder and feedback systems ? Digital servo feedback, incremental encoders (2500 increments), and integrated singleturn or multiturn absolute encoders, including versions for hazardous-area use
Drive shaft construction ? Plain or keyed shafts with balanced options and optional shaft sealing rings, which affect allowable encoder and vibration grade combinations
Secondary shaft end ? No shaft extension on side B for standard configurations
Bearing configurations ? Standard bearings or heavy-duty bearings, with vibration grade limitations when heavy-duty bearings are used
Vibration severity grades ? Multiple vibration classes supported, with higher grades restricted by motor length, bearing type, and shaft sealing options
